Iranian state media have stated that Iran’s President and Foreign Minister are dead after a helicopter crash in the country’s northwest on Sunday. What kind of difficulty does that now pose for Iran’s oppressive regime, and especially at a time of such instability? Could this incident have an impact on the wider Middle East, both when it comes to the war in Gaza and to Iran’s tensions with Israel?
