President Joe Biden makes a stop in Pennsylvania to push for factory jobs in the United States, as the Senate works to finish the bipartisan infrastructure bill. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says they’ll work through the weekend if that’s what it takes. The bipartisan group blew past a Monday deadline for the $1.2 trillion package. The White House wants a bipartisan agreement for this first phase before Democrats go it alone for a broader $3.5 trillion spending plan.

Masks are going back on. From the White House to the public, the CDC reversed course and is calling for all vaccinated to mask up once again. It marks a U-turn of the agency’s May announcement that prompted millions of vaccinated people to shed their face coverings. The change comes after new, troubling data showing that vaccinated people who contract the Delta variant in so-called breakthrough cases can spread the virus.

The first arrest warrant has been issued for one of the Texas Democrats who fled the state over the voting bill. Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan signed an arrest warrant for Democratic state lawmaker Philip Cortez on Sunday. Phelan directed the House Sergeant at Arms to take Cortez into custody and bring him “before the bar of the House [at once].” Cortez is one of 59 Democrats who fled Texas earlier this month.
