President Joe Biden proposes creating a minimum corporate tax rate of 15 percent as a way to pay for an infrastructure bill. That’s down from the initially proposed 28 percent. The Treasury Department also discussed the global corporate minimum tax rate during a recent meeting with G-20 leaders, saying 15 percent should be the minimum. Biden also floats a plan to increase funding for the IRS to tighten tax enforcement.
