Thousands of websites went offline Tuesday morning after an apparent widespread outage at cloud computing service company Fastly. People trying to reach The New York Times, CNN, Twitch, and the United Kingdom government’s home page met with error messages instead.
Vice President Kamala Harris is off on her first trip abroad. While in Guatemala, Harris had a message to migrants thinking of coming to the United States, telling them “Do not come.” Harris went on to say the United States will continue to enforce its laws and secure the border. She added that there are legal ways migration can and should occur.
The United States has recovered most of the ransom money paid to hackers after the cyberattack on Colonial Pipeline. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco said, “Today, we turned the tables on DarkSide.” The Department of Justice announced on Monday that officials seized 63.7 bitcoins, valued at around $2.3 million.
