Fentanyl abuse continues to grip the United States. The crisis is hitting Alaska, with over 250 overdose deaths last year. What’s more, a disturbing new development in the type of pills seized at the border is prompting a warning from authorities. “Candy”-looking fentanyl pills were recovered at the Nogales Port of Entry in Arizona on Aug. 17. Officials say this could be a strategy to target youth. Offering insight on this is former DEA special agent in charge Derek Maltz, whose law enforcement career spanned over 28 years.
