Fusion energy technology developer TAE Technologies claims they hit a milestone after successfully producing stable plasma at temperatures over 50 million degrees Celsius, or 90 million degrees Fahrenheit—three times hotter than the center of the sun.
Its ultimate goal is to generate sustainable, carbon-free energy. But as of now, the CEO says it can’t generate energy yet. Their next goal is to develop the technology further to actually make energy from the fusion reaction.
