Digital Euro Poses Threat to Privacy: Expert

The European Central Bank is taking steps in developing a digital euro. The bank says such a currency would give more stability to the euro and would provide an interesting alternative to cash for EU citizens as a payment method. But some experts are concerned that such a central bank digital currency would enable the state to better monitor and control the population.
