Wildlife experts examined 27 rescued baby tortoises and pronounced them healthy.

The highly endangered tortoises were found in a box on a bus. They were being smuggled to Europe. The experts confirmed that these are Galapagos tortoises.

Galapagos tortoises are the largest species. They could grow to be 6 feet long and weigh 500 pounds. They can live to be 100 years old.

Once doctors are certain they tortoises are strong enough to travel, they will be returned home.
