Fifty people were injured when two trains collided in Western Moscow on Saturday night, April 8.

A train traveling to Belarus hit a commuter train, derailing several cars.

The collision occurred when the commuter train hit its emergency brakes to avoid a man crossing the tracks. The commuter train rolled backward slowly after stopping; the intercity train hit it from behind.

Of the 50 injured, 12 were taken to the hospital.
