MEXICO CITY—An earthquake of 5.7 magnitude was reported in Veracruz, Mexico on Thursday, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

Tremors were felt by a Reuters witness in Tlaxcala state and alarms briefly sounded in capital Mexico City.
