Economist: Be Cautious With Spending

Inflation is here to stay for at least the next year, according to many economists NTD has spoken to. And it’s possible to see prices rise more because it’s also unclear if inflation has reached its peak. Some economists say there are indications that we’ve reached the peak, while others say they’re expecting stagflation—a combination of high inflation along with stagnant economic growth.

But regardless of economists’ different projections, they all agree on one thing: the Federal Reserve has a very narrow path to walk now to cool inflation without tipping us into a recession.

NTD spoke with William Hoagland, senior vice president of the Bipartisan Policy Center, to hear his thoughts.
