A world-first report out Wednesday advises medical institutions and professionals in transplant medicine on their international legal responsibilities to prevent them from taking part in organ trafficking and forced organ harvesting—the act of killing a person for their organs.

NTD spoke with Martin Elliott, emeritus professor from University College London who has worked in transplant surgery for over 30 years, and asked him what experiences he has had that made him want to tackle this difficult subject.
