A united European Union, during Brexit talks, could benefit the U.K., says Donald Tusk.

“We need to remain united as EU27. It is only then that we will be able to conclude the negotiations. Which means that our unity is also in the UK’s interest. And as for now, I can feel strong support from all the EU institutions, including the European Parliament, as well as all the 27 member states. I know that this is something unique, but I am confident that it will not change,” said EU Council President Donald Tusk.

Brexit negotiation are expected to go into 2018 and 2019. If the U.K. and the EU will leave the negotiations on mutually beneficial terms remains to be seen. Brexit could impact the economic, social, and governmental structure of Europe, and could alter the positioning of the EU and U.K. on the world stage.
