Reports of shootings and overall crime skyrocketed in New York City last year. Shooting victims were up over 100 percent and shooting incidents rose 97 percent from 2019. Former police officer and CEO of a tactical gear company Suresh Madhavan says it’s because of the city’s smaller police presence and there could be even more this year.
