Expert: Inflation Hotter Than CPI Shows

If you don’t think we’re heading for stagflation, you could argue that inflation — looking at the CPI — is nowhere near where it was in the 1970s or 80s. But New York Times best selling author Larry McDonald, who wrote “A Colossal Failure of Common Sense,” argues that if you use the CPI measurements that were used back in the early 1980s, inflation would be running at closer to 14 percent rather than the 5.3 percent that we saw last month.

NTD spoke with McDonald, founder of “The Bear Traps Report“, about the change in the CPI.
