‘Extremely High Risk’ of Forced Labor in Temu Supply Chains: Congressional Report

The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party is giving a warning for thrifty shoppers. A Thursday report expanded on forced labor accusations. The latest concern is Chinese e-retailer Temu, alongside long-controversial Chinese fast-fashion retailer Shein.

In the report, lawmakers stated: “American consumers should know that there is an extremely high risk that Temu’s supply chains are contaminated with forced labor.”

The report accuses Temu of failing to maintain “even the facade” of a system to keep products made with forced labor off its marketplace, and is likely shipping them out to customers on a “regular basis.”
