Former Trump Campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, #Walkaway founder Brandon Straka, and many others gathered at the Queens Village Republican Club’s 144th Anniversary Lincoln Dinner on March 24. Coincidentally, on the same day, Attorney General William Barr released his findings, stating that President Donald Trump and his 2016 campaign did not collude with the Russian government.
“Attorney General Barr just released that statement less than one hour ago,” said Lewandowski at the podium. “And it brings to a close, the greatest witch hunt against our president in the nation’s history.”
Guests rejoiced, as Lewandowski’s announcement meant truth and justice were upheld. And the event’s award-winners and special guests did not pass on the opportunity to condemn “fake news” and the politicians who accused the now-exonerated president of something nefarious.
‘Fake News’ Puts Up A Fight
“If we were just fighting the Democrats: we win. But we’re not. We’re fighting the fake news, every single day,” said Lewandowski above an image of Abraham Lincoln.
He and David Bossie—president of Citizens United and Fox News Contributor—are the authors of “Trump’s Enemies: How the Deep State is Undermining the Presidency.” Within the book: Buzzfeed, CNN, and The New York Times are mentioned, detailing and marking their contributions to the vast, negative media coverage of the president. All reserved guests received a copy.
Even the Trump Administration released a 40-second video titled “Collusion Hoax!” after the March 24 summary was released. Democrats can be seen and heard pushing ideas that evidence of collusion existed, describing it as a supposed “mountain of evidence” and “in plain sight.”
#WalkAway From Disinformation
After Brandon Straka received the American Patriot of the Year Award, he opened with a toast: “To the end of the collusion delusion.”
Straka is the founder of the #WalkAway campaign: a movement encouraging Democrats to rethink their support for their party and the liberal media, and to walk away from destructive leftist ideologies and disinformation. Straka shared his experience with liberal media, and how one day, he realized he was being lied to by sources he once trusted.
“I believed everything that the liberal media was telling me. They told me that Donald Trump was a racist, and a bigot, and a homophobe; and that his followers were no better—but they also told me that I had nothing to worry about. Because they said that he had a three percent chance of winning.”
With the help of a staunch Christian conservative who helped the young gay liberal, he saw a video debunking coverage of President Trump supposedly mocking a reporter’s disability. The next couple of months after were spent researching the media, finding and tracing the strings of deceit.
This is More Than Just About Parties
Though the Walkaway movement highlights people that walked away from the Democrat Party, Straka said that this is more than just political; rather, it is about being an individual.
“You can become an Independent, you can become a Libertarian, you can become a Republican—the most important thing is, for God’s sake, think for yourself! Start thinking for yourself!”
The oldest Republican club in the country ended its dinner with cheesecake, ice cream, fireworks, and an all-American classic: The Main Theme from “Star Wars” by John Williams.
