Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad fled the country on Sunday after the Syrian government was toppled by the Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group.
Kervin Aucoin, a former lead intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance coordinator for the U.S. Army in Europe and host of the podcast “This Week Explained,” told NTD that though Assad’s ousting is cause for celebration, history shows that the fall of oppressive regimes can lead to periods of instability.
