Sarah Yaga was kidnapped from school in Chibok, Nigeria, by Boko Haram terrorists in 2014.

When it happened, her parents cried and prayed. There was nothing else they could do. “The time that they take these children, we were really worried,” said her father, Samuel Yaga. “Every day my wife was crying, crying, crying. If we stop crying, then praying, then crying.”

Last week her parents heard that 82 of the kidnapped girls had been released. They had hope—for a while.

On  May 7 a list of the freed girls was published. Sarah Yaga’s name was not on it. Her mother Rebecca still has hope–and faith. She believes Sarah might not be on the list but still might have been released.

“If she’s among them I will (be) happy,” Rebecca Yaga said. “Even though she’s (not) among them I will be happy because we know the government they are trying now, we know that very soon the others will be released too.”

She might not see her daughter soon, but she still finds the faith to hope that she will see her daughter someday. “I am feeling bad but I’m keeping praying because even I cry, I would not bring her back with my strength or power,’ Rebecca said.

“But I believe in God and I trust in God that one day they will be released, and I see now they begin their coming out now, I know that one day they will soon all come, she said.”
