You probably have already seen and read all about it over the internet. Levain Bakery’s world famous six-ounce cookies seem to always be a hot topic on social media. But is it really worth the hype?

Currently they are offering four flavors:
Chocolate Chip Walnut, Oatmeal Raisin, Double Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Chocolate

We have tried, tasted, analyzed, and deconstructed each cookie bite by bite, and these are our conclusions…

Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie

It can’t be the best seller without a reason. The outer layer is crunchy all around but not hard at all. The inside is so soft and moist like all of their cookies. The combination of chocolate and nuts is a match made in heaven. You can’t go wrong with it (unless you are allergic to nuts).

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie

This is our personal favorite, maybe because this is the least sweet out of all four. The other three flavors are not that sweet to begin with, especially compared to the usual American standard. But the oatmeal and raisin cookie has a more subtle and balanced taste. We find it very addictive.

Double Chocolate Cookie

This is definitely for the serious chocolate lovers. It is super rich and fudgy. The cookie weighs at least 6 oz or more, and it’s filled with chocolate dough and chocolate chips. We suggest you split it with your friends.  After all, “sharing is caring.”

Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie

This cookie is essentially a peanut butter brownie, disguised as a cookie. We love how the peanut butter pieces melt inside the chocolate dough, and add more flavor to the indulgence.

A Little Back Story on Levain Bakery:

The bakery was founded in 1994 by friends Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes. At the time, Connie was in banking and Pam in Fashion. The two, both competitive swimmers, trained together for the Ironman and—not surprisingly, as their tireless workouts left them feeling starved for great food— they began a passionate dialog about creating the world’s greatest chocolate chip cookie.

Tip:

Go there in early morning or during the week to avoid crazy long lines. We heard it’s usually busiest on the weekend.
