New York’s firefighters are always there to help their community. However, a daunting job combined with increased pressures stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic is pushing some extremely tough and resilient first responders to the brink. But there is a glimmer of hope that has been invaluable in helping them to cope with the challenges of the job. NTD spoke to Nancy Carbone, the founder and executive director of Friends of Firefighters, to find out more.
