A man who claims to have transitioned into a woman has won the Miss Netherlands beauty pageant. Rikkie Valerie Kollé will now advance to the Miss Universe competition, which will be held in El Salvador later this year.
NTD spoke to Ilan Srulovicz, a CEO, filmmaker, and actor, who offers his perspective on the issue. He says that in his industry, people usually don’t speak out against these occurrences due to fear. Mr. Srulovicz asserts that a vocal minority that is aggressive about its “fundamentalist ideology” can cause the overwhelming majority to comply out of “agreeableness and out of not being aware that other people are self-censoring too, so you don’t know you’re in the majority until you start speaking out.”
