A lamp invented to help people who don’t have electricity in their homes was the brainchild of three Filipinos. The lamp produces eight hours of light powered by a glass of water and two tablespoons of salt. It also runs on sea water, allowing those living near in the ocean can use the lamp immediately.
The “Salt Light” has no flammable parts that could ignite a fire. This makes the lamp an excellent alternative to the traditional and popular kerosene-fed lamps. The lamp is also environment-friendly and does not emit harmful gasses. Furthermore, you can charge the lamp in an emergency on a battery phone, using the USB port.
The three inventors are siblings Aisa Mijeno, a computer engineer, her brother Ralph Mijeno and, Oscar Bryan Magtibay (not pictured).
