Fire-damaged I-85 in Atlanta reopens ahead of schedule

After six weeks, I-85 through Atlanta has all lanes open.

A fire on March 30 caused a highway overpass to collapse. It was not scheduled to reopen until June 15.

The northbound side collapsed but both sides had to be closed.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said 250,000 cars use that section of road daily.

A homeless man has been arrested for setting the fire.
