A New York City firefighter was killed after flames erupted late Thursday night at a Harlem building being used as a set for a movie starring Edward Norton.

The movie, “Motherless Brooklyn,” was set for release next year and stars Bruce Willis, Willem Dafoe and Alec Baldwin. Edward Norton is director/screenwriter and is also listed as an actor.

The fire broke out in the basement of the building on St. Nicholas Avenue just before 11 p.m.

A, firefighter, Michael Davidson, a 37-year-old father of four, was briefly reported missing after a mayday call was made from the fiery building.

Mr Davidson was soon found and rushed to the nearby Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Two more firefighters were seriously injured with burns, while three civilians suffered minor injuries.
