A new Fox News Poll shows an increase in popularity for first lady, Melania Trump.

Over half of American voters view the first lady favorably, at 51 percent, which is up 14 points up from last December and 16 points from last summer. In August 2016, her favorability rating was just 35 percent while 40 percent viewed her unfavorably. Today just 28 percent of voters hold a less favorably view.

Her popularity rose across the aisle. For Republicans, it increased by 24 percent to 82 percent. And among Democrats, while only 26 percent see her favorably, that’s a 12-point increase since the last poll. Forty-three percent of independents like her.

Looking at the gender split, her popularity rose among men rise by 17 points to 55 percent, and among women by 15 points to 48 percent.

President Donald Trump’s ratings have also risen, although only slightly. Forty-seven percent of voters view him favorably, which is up from 44 percent in March and 38 percent just before the November election.

Vice President Mike Pence is liked by 47 percent of voters, and seen less well by 42 percent.

Legislative leaders of all stripes fared less well in Fox’s most recent poll.

House Speaker Paul Ryan is seen favorably by 37 percent of voters and unfavorably by 45 percent. House Minority Leader, Democrat Nancy Pelosi’s numbers come in at 33 percent favorable and 50 percent unfavorable; fellow Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has a 26-percent favorability rating with 35 percent finding him unfavorable; and Senate Majority Leader Republican Mitch McConnell fared worst at 25 favorable versus 41 percent unfavorable. All rated lower than the president, first lady, and the vice president.

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cellphone interviews with 1,017 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from June 25-27, 2017. The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points for all registered voters.
