First Ministerial Visit to Hong Kong Since 2018

It’s the first visit to Hong Kong by a UK minister since 2018. Trade Minister Lord Dominic Johnson is in the city to discuss boosting trade with senior Hong Kong government officials. The government faced criticism from MPs and campaigners for the move. This comes after the controversial attendance of Chinese top official Han Zheng at the King’s coronation.
