A Palm Beach woman has been arrested for allegedly voting in two states.

According to the Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office, 55-year-old Cheryl Ann Leslie of Loxahatchee, Florida, was arrested and booked into Palm Beach County jail on Nov. 4 for allegedly casting more than one ballot during an election. Both charges are third-degree felonies. The Florida Secretary of State’s Office of Election Crimes and Security (OECS) assisted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) in the investigation.

At a press conference in Spring Hill, Florida, on April 25, DeSantis signed Senate Bill 524 into law, strengthening voting rules in the state and establishing the OECS, the nation’s first office specifically formed to investigate and prosecute voter fraud.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s office, Leslie, a physician assistant at a senior care facility in Loxahatchee, voted in both the 2020 federal and state primary elections in Florida and Alaska. Leslie’s Alaska votes were submitted by absentee ballot, and her Florida votes were submitted in person during early voting in Palm Beach County.

Leslie told investigators that her job required extensive travel between multiple states. The investigation revealed a pattern of double-voting as Leslie also voted in both states in 2014, 2016, and 2018. Currently, Leslie is only facing charges for the 2020 votes.

Information on Leslie’s multi-state voting originated from the Secretary of State’s Office of Election Crimes and Security and was forwarded to FDLE’s Election Crime Unit for further investigation.

In October, Florida’s OECS recommended that the FDLE open an investigation into the complaint of a Democrat whistleblower regarding a “long-running, widespread ballot harvesting operation” targeting African American communities in Orange County. The FDLE is also reviewing another ballot harvesting complaint in Fort Myers.

On Oct. 20, the FDLE announced the arrest of Alfred Samuels on two counts of voting as an unqualified elector. Samuels–a registered Democrat–voted in the 2022 elections. Samuels is an illegal immigrant from Jamaica living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

In March 2021, Samuels became a registered voter in Broward County voter by using a counterfeit birth certificate from New York City.

“We have arrested more than just 19 individuals for election crimes since August,” FDLE spokesperson Jeremy Burns told The Epoch Times, saying that 17 of those arrests were announced in an Aug. 18 press release. “We have arrested two more on active warrants from that operation. David Dana was arrested in Broward County, and Michael Anderson was arrested in Hillsborough County.”

Burns said there is also an active arrest warrant out for the 20th individual from that same case, who currently remains at large.

Burns added that 50-year-old Travis Wallace of Miami was arrested on Nov. 3 on the same charges as those in the Aug. 18 press release.

“This makes a total of 22 arrests for election crimes since August to date, with an active arrest warrant out for a 23rd,” Burns said.

Leslie is being held on $1,000 bail.
