Shocking footage shows the moment a reckless teenager threw a shopping cart into traffic.

The teen, believed to be between 14 and 16, can be seen struggling to get the trolley above the railing of the footbridge before he finally succeeds.

The footage was filmed by an accomplice.

The incident happened in Exeter, in Devon, in the United Kingdom, on a footbridge between Tesco Vale and Ikea above the busy A379.

Police officers are now hunting the two youths from the video, which was originally shared on Snapchat.

It was reported to Devon and Cornwall Police at 7.20 p.m. on the evening of April 2, after the footage was shared online.

Police sent a unit to the scene but officers couldn’t find the teens or the trolley.

One concerned mother who shared the footage said the falling cart “could have killed someone.”

Police officers confirmed they were aware of the video clip, which has been shared on a community Facebook page and it has been reported to them.

“We are looking for one youth, aged 14 to 16 who was seen throwing a trolley onto the carriageway from an over bridge,” a police spokesman said.

“He is described as wearing a grey and black top with the hood up and trainers with red stripes on their sides.”
