Former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott talks about the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border in an interview with CNN on Sept. 23. He criticizes the Biden administration for giving illegal immigrants an “incentive” to come to the United States and notes the “real threat” Americans are facing. The number of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border has been surging recently. Officials said that an estimated 9,000 people were apprehended on Sept. 20, a daily apprehension level not seen since 10,000 migrants crossed into the United States illegally per day during several days in May, according to unpublished federal figures obtained by CBS News.
