The first performance of Shen Yun New York Company on the evening of March 24, in the Regent Theatre, Melbourne, Australia, attracted many celebrities. Athol Willoughby, former renowned Australian classical ballet dancer, and one of the top examiners for the Cecchetti method in Australia and other countries, came to the show for the fourth time. He said that he “couldn’t believe how perfect they are.”
“Well I think it’s just magical. This the fourth time I’ve seen the Shen Yun Company and I just can’t believe how perfect they are.” He said he told his wife Janine that he “can’t stand the fact” that they’re so perfect.
He added, “Makes me jealous. If only we could get that perfection in classical ballet. We are trying but somehow or another, we don’t quite get there.”
He said that two years ago, his wife Janine gave him a DVD of the training class in Fei Tian Academy of the Arts, and he studied it.
“I couldn’t believe the perfection and the eye to detail in the classes. It really comes out in the performances,” said Athol, “The technique is flawless. Really, it is.”
He would like to say to dance lovers that they should come to see Shen Yun performance because it had so much to give.
“Well I can’t wait for the next time. So thank you very much.”
