France’s Francois Hollande prepares for change of leadership

France prepares for a change of leadership.

Francois Hollande steps down as French president to welcome President-elect Emmanuel Macron. Hollande chose not to run for a second term.

It’s the first time in France’s modern history that an incumbent president chose not to run again.

Macron served in Hollande’s government, but resigned to run for president. At 39-years-old, Macron will be the youngest head of state since Napoleon Bonaparte.
