Freestyle skiers, Benedikt Mayr and Markus Eder, just completed an extraordinary run by jumping over several roads of the Stelvio Pass in Italy.

The Stelvio Pass is the highest mountain pass in Italy. The skiers started from an altitude of 9,000 feet (2,757 meters) and then navigated the 1820-foot (555 meter) descent from the peak of Piz da las Trais Linguas (Peak of the Three Languages).

For the first time ever, they took on several road gaps in the Stillfser Joch National Park.

They jumped 12 road gaps over the streets conquering 20 features, from slopes, rail slides, and snowcat vehicles.

The two had been preparing for months since the beginning of 2018 to complete the run before the pass became accessible in May.

They almost didn’t make it.

Fast melting snow gave them little time to complete the run. But, impressively, complete it they did, and all within five days.

Red Bull’s “Road Gaps” documents their run between the Italian provinces of Lombardy and South Tyrol, with filming done by Germany’s Mayr and South Tyrol local, Eder.
