In some French cities, residents are taking the law into their own hands and forming self-defense groups to protect their neighborhoods. In Nantes, the actions of one of these so-called militias led to the arrest of an individual whom police treat as the main suspect in a murder case. NTD spoke to a think tank director, who said such a development shows how inefficient the French criminal justice system has become.
