French Parliament Declares Genocide in Xinjiang

In France, lawmakers recognize China’s treatment of Uyghurs as ‘genocide,’  just two weeks before the Beijing Winter Olympics.

On Thursday, France’s parliament passed a motion asking the government to condemn China for “crimes against humanity and genocide”.  The non-binding motion was adopted with 169 votes for—and one vote against.
