Arron Culling and his co-worker Mark were in Papua New Guinea visiting a local food market when they spotted two beautiful sea turtles. They knew immediately that this particular species of sea turtle, and all seven species of sea turtles, were on the endangered list and nearing extinction. They purchased both turtles for $50 and drove 5km to the seashore, where they released them both.

Marine turtle fishing is still legal in many areas, one of the main reasons they are on the endangered species list. This isn’t the first time Aaron and Mark have done this. So far, they’ve rescued 10 other sea turtles as well.

These are some lucky turtles and some great guys. Thanks for doing what you can to preserve our precious marine life.
