Full Transcript of Call Between Trump and Zelensky Released

The administration of President Donald Trump released the full transcript of a phone call between the president and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sept. 25.

Trump said on Tuesday that he ordered the release to be transparent and show he did nothing wrong.

Opponents had launched a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump based on a complaint from an anonymous person who said they didn’t have direct knowledge of the call. The person claimed Trump improperly pressured Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, a charge both Trump and Zelensky have denied.

Trump said that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo got permission from the Ukranian government to release the transcript.

Also released on Wednesday was an opinion from the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel showing the office of the Director of National Intelligence did not have to disclose the complaint to Congress.
