From Intel to the plastic toy company K’nex, firms are looking to reshore production back to the U.S. Intel recently announced its plan to build the largest silicon manufacturing location near Columbus Ohio. It’s a $20 billion investment. The reshoring concept has gained traction throughout the pandemic. Rising costs, shipping delays, and supply chain issues have contributed to this. NTD spoke with Jake Phipps, CEO of a manufacturing firm. He tells us more about the reliance the U.S. manufacturing industry has on China, and what products are less available due to shutdowns in Asia—including pandemic lockdowns and holiday breaks in China.
