Something unprecedented has happened with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign: the super PAC that supports him has returned $9.65 million of a $10-million donation. The American Values PAC gave back the donation from well-known private security executive Gavin de Becker.
NTD spoke to Craig Holman, a government affairs lobbyist and campaign finance expert at Public Citizen, to find out why this likely happened. He says the transaction was probably designed to provide RFK’s campaign with a false veneer of momentum right at the start, and said it was an act that would equate to “gaming the system.”
