Hurricane Ian has been categorized as a product of climate change by many media companies. NTD spoke to geologist Gregory Wrightstone to learn more about any data that supports or refutes this claim.

Wrightstone is the author of “Inconvenient Facts” and is an expert reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Wrightstone says there is more data to suggest warmer oceans lead to fewer hurricanes than vice versa. Wrightstone notes that warmer temperatures lead to more wind shear, which actually cuts down on the number of hurricanes.
