A Georgia boy who was prayed for by a police officer in July, and seen by millions as the video went viral, is now cancer-free.

Jalen Manns was diagnosed with a brain tumor after suffering from severe headaches.

The day before his biopsy, several police officers from the Warner Robins Police Department visited Jalen and prayed over the boy, reaching out after seeing an article in a local paper about him.

Video footage of the prayer was posted on the “Team Jalen” Facebook page and went viral, garnering over 6 million views.

The next day, officers went to Jalen’s home and escorted him to the hospital.

‘It’s About God’

Officer Jason Lamberth, the one praying in the video, said that he wanted to help Jalen.

“Me being me, one thing that I pray for, I always pray that God put me in someone’s place to minister to that day and while talking to Jalen, I immediately felt the presence of God leading me to want to pray for him and try to adhere to his calling,” Lamberth told WMAZ.

Huge shout out to the WRPD this morning. The prayer they prayed with us before we hit the road was enough to leave us speechless! ❤

He said he never expected what happened with the video.

“It’s truly been mind-blowing, you know, like I said, I never expected any of the attention. I just wanted to get, one, believing in God’s healing powers. I never expected anything like this to go viral,” he said.

“I don’t want the attention. It’s not about me, it’s about God. It’s about Jalen and getting his story out there. I just really hope and pray for his total healing and that people will go and support the family,” Lamberth added.

Cancer-Free

Jalen announced in a video posted on the “Team Jalen” page that he was cancer-free.

“My scans are clear and I’m cancer-free. Thank you for praying for me,” he said.

In the caption, his team wrote that the MRI showed a total resection, and no more brain tumor.

“The news was everything we prayed for and we just cried and thanked God for blessing us continuously. Jalen is still doing physical therapy and occupational therapy so we are still at St. Jude for now but his path to recovery is shortening daily,” they wrote.

“Once we are discharged from St. Jude he will have to come back every 3 months for scans because his tumor does have a 98% chance of growing back. We collected all of his beads of courage today as we celebrated him being CANCER FREE!!”
