German astronaut to lead 2018 ISS European Space Agency mission

A German astronaut announced a new ISS mission. The mission will be the first led by a German. The mission is called Horizons and is meant to explore beyond science’s current horizons.

Forty-one-year-old German astronaut Alexander Gerst first boarded the ISS for a mission in 2014. The upcoming mission is scheduled to take off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in southern Kazakhstan, in April, 2018.
