Germany’s iconic beer industry could likely face a transformation as many of its unique and small brewers are struggling to get though—and with another lockdown expected this month, some may not make it.
German breweries teeter on the edge of survival after months of bar closures. Major events and festivals that would usually consume large amounts of beer have also been canceled, which is a problem for Germany’s many small brewers.
The German government put together a series of aid packages to help businesses, including breweries. But whether it’s enough to stop most of them from going under remains to be seen.
