German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called Chinese leader Xi Jinping a name that made waves in the news.
“If Putin were to win this war, what sign would that be for other dictators in the world, like Xi, like the Chinese president?,” Ms. Baerbock said.
Ms. Baerbock made the remarks in an interview with Fox News during her United States visit last week.
Beijing didn’t take the description lightly and immediately summoned the German ambassador to Beijing.
The next day, Beijing accused Berlin of “political provocation.”
