Germans powered through a mess of an obstacle course during the Tough Mudder competition. The race is an obstacle course full of mud. Contestants stumble through with the help of their friends and fellow competitors pushing, pulling, and dragging them along. It’s mainly about fun and challenging oneself.
Race participant Sebastian Wolf explained the team nature of the sport, “It’s the community. It really is the team spirit, therefore it’s a bit sad that today I ran on my own, but I didn’t have the feeling that I was alone. On the route I got to know people everywhere, we helped each other, made jokes, cheered each other up, it was very good.”
This year contestants faced 20 obstacles.
Germany has three Tough Mudders a year. The race originated in Pennsylvania, in 2010 before spreading around the world.
