Germany Investigates Xiaomi Cellphones Over Security Concerns

The German Federal Office for Information Security, or BSI, is launching an investigation into Chinese mobile company Xiaomi.

The investigation was triggered by a warning from the European country Lithuania, saying phones made by Xiaomi and Huawei can detect and censor terms Beijing doesn’t like. And these phone companies can remotely activate the censorship function.
