Germany Navy Head Resigns After Putin Comments

Germany’s navy chief stepped down on Saturday after drawing criticism for saying Russian President Vladimir Putin deserved respect, and that it’s nonsense that Russia is amassing troops at the Ukraine border because it’s planning to take over a “tiny strip” of its neighbor. Ukraine welcomed the resignation but said it was “not sufficient to restore trust in German politics.”
