Germany to Expand Military Presence in Indo-Pacific

Germany says it plans to show more muscle in the Indo-Pacific region, joining other Western nations in an effort to counter Beijing’s growing territorial ambitions.

Last year, Berlin sent its first warship in almost 20 years to the disputed waters of the South China Sea.

Germany’s defense chief General Eberhard Zorn recently said that Berlin would send out more warships and join drills with allies like Australia in the coming years.
