GOP Dashes Democrat Hopes for Senate Majority

Both parties seem to have lost ground in Congress. The Republicans’ Senate majority has eroded, but hasn’t completely evaporated. Republicans currently hold a 53-47 seat Senate majority.

For Democrats to win control, they’d need to net three Republican seats—and Joe Biden would have to win the White House—giving Kamala Harris the tie-breaking vote as vice president. If Biden loses to President Trump, Democrats would need four seats.
