GOP Senators Aim to Repeal Federal Unemployment Benefits

As of Thursday, 14 states have put an end to the federal government’s enhanced unemployment benefits. The low jobs report in April has made some fear that economic recovery is being stifled by the extra help from the government, since some say it’s encouraging Americans to stay home rather than go back to work. Now a group of Republican senators wants to pass a bill to end these benefits nationwide.
